Cetilar Racing in Le Mans for its fourth 24 Hours
Four editions and don’t hear them. Because every time it is a unique, extraordinary emotion. Also this year Cetilar Racing will take to the track in the 24 Hours of Le Mans . A legendary challenge, which the only all-Italian team in the Prototypes field (team, drivers and car) faces precisely for the fourth time continuously since 2017, when it made its debut there with the crew composed of Roberto Lacorte , Giorgio Sernagiotto and Andrea Belicchi , authors with the Dallara LMP2 n.47 of a sensational ninth place overall, out of a total 60 cars at the start, and the seventh in their class.
This weekend (19 and 20 September), the 24 Hours of Le Mans reaches its 88th edition . An edition that for the first time in history will take place closed doors for the public. But the charm, for the protagonists and for those who follow it from home, will remain unchanged.
1,047 laps, for a total of 14,282,133 kilometers completed in the race on the La Sarthe track. Numbers that have a very specific meaning for the Cetilar Racing team and that identify its passion. Once again, Lacorte, Sergnagiotto and Belicchi will take turns at the wheel. The latter absent only in 2018, when his place was taken by former Formula 1 driver Felipe Nasr, but again at the start last year, celebrating the enviable milestone of the ten 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Speaking of “milestones”, this is the first season for the Cetilar Racing team in the FIA WEC World , in which it made its debut exactly one year ago in the Silverstone race, the first of the calendar 2019-2020, when he immediately collected the sixth place in his class.
The Italian team, whose car has been managed since the end of last year by AF Corse , has just returned from the best placement achieved on August 15th in the 6 Hours of Spa, sixth and third last round of the series world champion which will reach its epilogue with the 8 Hours of Bahrain scheduled for November. In Belgium, Lacorte, Sernagiotto and Belicchi finished eighth overall and fifth in class. An excellent omen, in view of the most important appointment of the whole season.
At Le Mans, the Cetilar Racing team will also be the only Dallara present out of a total of 24 LMP2s, which is by far the busiest class. A participation for which all partners must certainly be thanked: PharmaNutra , main sponsor with its brand Cetilar® – a line of products based on cetylated esters (7.5 % CFA) available in the Cream and Patch versions and aimed mainly at athletes who do not want to give up their passions due to muscle discomfort or joint problems – Tag Heuer , Devitalia Telecomunicazioni , Azimut and Caremoli .
The program will go live on Thursday 17th with two free practice sessions lasting three hours each, starting at 10 am and 2 pm. On the same day, from 5.15 pm, the single 45-minute qualifying session will take place. Then, starting at 20, a further free practice session lasting four hours. Friday 18, at 10 am, still “off” to a free session of one hour and at 11.30 the Hyperpole. The warm-up is scheduled for Saturday 19, from 10.30 to 10.45, with the 24 Hours of Le Mans starting in the afternoon at 2.30 pm and ending the day after.
The appointment for live TV is on Eurosport channels.
