Cetilar Racing on the Dakar 2020 starting line as Fernando Alonso’s partner
Not long now to the start of the 42th edition of the famous Dakar Rally, setting off tomorrow, Sunday 5 January 2020, from the city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, overlooking the Red Sea, and ending on 17 January in Qiddiyah, just a few miles from the capital Riyadh.
One of the most eagerly awaited racers is the Spanish driver Fernando Alonso, twice Formula 1 world champion, twice winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and reigning champion of the FIA World Endurance Championship with Toyota Gazoo Racing, who will be at the starting line of the famous desert race bearing the colours of the Japanese manufacturer, along with his navigator Marc Coma, who himself has already won the Dakar Motorbike Rally five times.
For the race, Alonso will also be sponsored by Cetilar Racing, emblasoned on the Spanish driver’s suit and helmet, embodying the spirit of sporting challenges in one of the world’s toughest competitions, which is also the ideal setting for testing the undisputed qualities of the Cetilar® product range in extreme conditions.
The 2020 Dakar Rally covers 12 stages and 7,856 km, including 5,097 km of special stages across the dunes of the desert and the dirt tracks in the north, and over half the route (64.88%) of actual competition. A super-race, marking Cetilar Racing’s début in the desert rally sector.
