Cetilar Racing ottavo sul traguardo della 6 Ore del COTA

Cetilar Racing completed a regular 6 Hours of Cota clinching the eight position of the LMP2 class and the 11th overall. In the fifth out of eight FIA WEC 2019-2020 rounds, the trio Roberto Lacorte, Giorgio Sernagiotto and Andrea Belicchi ended well a not easy race at Austin on a circuit not suited to the AF Corse run Dallara #47 car.

For the fifth time over five races, the all-Italian crew took the finish line, showing again great consistency. After solving a front suspension issue emerged during the free practice, everything went well.

Particularly Lacorte produced a huge effort as he completed a double and exhausting opening stint when he recovered one position adopting two new tires on front and two old at the rear with full fuel load. Eventually the Italian was the fastest among the Bronze drivers with a best lap of 1:56.7. Sernagiotto and Belicchi completed an excellent job too.

It was my best ever race. Beyond the eight position claimed alongside Giorgio and Andrea, I am very proud I drove for 84 laps, a total of two hours and 50 minutes over the 6-hour race, completing four driving-stints and setting the best lap time of the Bronze class, a half of second behind the Pros. All that in a very difficult track for our car”, Lacorte commented.

At Austin the drivers and team proved again their strenght, looking forward the next round held in the Usa again, at the 1000 Miles of Sebring, in Florida, on 18th/19th/20th March, before returning to Europe for the last two season’s events at Spa-Francorchamps and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where Cetilar Racing will make its fourth consecutive appearance.
