Vitamina Cetilar stands out at the Nations Trophy in Porto Cervo
Last week, Porto Cervo hosted the Nations Trophy-Swan One Design regattas, reserved for the boats from the Nautor Swan shipyard, which from Wednesday to Saturday battled it out on the windy seas of the Costa Smeralda. Four great days of sailing, in which the Vitamina Cetilar, the Club Swan 50 of the Vitamina Sailing Team captained by Andrea Lacorte with the English tactician Nic Asher, was the absolute star.
The boat racing for the Yacht Club Repubblica Marinara di Pisa –already on the podium in May in Villasimius, again in Sardinia, for the first leg of the circuit– ended the event organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda with the Nautor Swan shipyard, with an excellent final second place in the Club Swan 50 class, the most numerous with 13 boats and above all the toughest, given the high level of the crews in the race.
Seven races were fought in four days, with extremely regular scores – 6, 2, 5, 10, 3, 2 and 7 – for the yacht wearing Cetilar® blue, captained impeccably by Andrea Lacorte, with the crew including not only Asher but also the tried-and-tested Team Manager Matteo De Luca with Alberto Bolzan, Francesco Mongelli, Giovanni Bucarelli, Massimo Bortoletto, Diego Battisti, Alessandro Tonelli, Jacopo Ciampalini, Alessandro Frizzarin and Alessandro Costagliola.
Thanks to these results, Vitamina Cetilar ended the Nations Trophy in Porto Cervo in final second place, behind the German Marcus Brennecke’s Hatari and ahead of Leonardo Ferragamo’s Cuordileone. But there’s more.
The boat, supported in its competitive efforts by Cetilar®, the brand of the PharmaNutra pharmaceutical company, contributed to the Italian success in the Nations Trophy, along with Cuordileone. In this special team ranking, Italy beat Germany and the Principality of Monaco.
“It was a really great week, the strong winds made for a brilliant performance, enhancing the features of our crew, whom I congratulate as the guys did a really great job,” the captain Andrea Lacorte declared. “Racing in Costa Smeralda is never easy, and with a highly competitive fleet like the Club Swan 50 it’s even tougher, and this is why our second place means a lot to us. And if we add the win in the team trophy, we can only go home being satisfied with both the result and our performance. The M32 and Club Swan 50 have brought some great satisfaction in the season so far. We will continue in this direction, growing and improving more and more.”
