The second appointment in the season for the European circuit of M32 catamarans the first, commanding victory for the Vitamina Sailing team, the absolute starts of the series of regattas held in Medemblik, the Netherlands, between Friday and Sunday.

Vitamina Rapida Cetilar, the catamaran captained by Andrea Lacorte with Team Manager Matteo De Luca, the Australian Olympic gold medallist Will Ryan and the New Zealanders Adam Minoprio and Stewart Dodson, literally dominated the event, with 10 partial wins in the 16 races over three days, all in very windy conditions (up to 20 knots) and on a complicated and unforeseeable regatta field that only Medemblik can offer.

An authentic exploit was put on show by the crew captained by Andrea Lacorte, racing for the Yacht Club Repubblica Marinara di Pisa, which set the pace right from the first day, ending with five wins out of five races, leaving only crumbs for the other competitors.

In the following two days, Vitamina Rapida Cetilar controlled the field, keeping hold of first place with practically perfect regatta tactics and handling of the boat, pushing back the attacks from the home Team NL (captained by the new World Champion Finn Pieter Jan-Postma) and the Swedish Vikings, both on the final podium.

Vitamina Veloce Cetilar, the team’s second catamaran captained by Marco Radman, ended the Dutch weekend in fifth place, on equal points for the Danish team Warrer Racing in fourth place.
“It’s always great to win, especially when you have worked so hard to achieve an objective; doing it in this way, with authority, and on a regatta field that is famous for its dangers like Medemblik, is something extraordinary, and pays off all the efforts made so far,” stated Andrea Lacorte from the top step of the podium. “I would like to give my compliments to the crew, who did a really good job allowing me to focus on speed and sailing the boat. We deserved this win, and we’re going to enjoy it.”

The M32 catamarans will return to racing in late July, at the third leg of the European Series, held from 22 to 24 in Marstrand, Sweden.
